Lubrication & Hydraulic oil systems

The role of oil in a Lubrication & Hydraulic Oil System is to
to reduce friction and protect the system

This means it works hard. Depending on the system and type of oil, it wears out at different rates and to different extents. A worn oil cannot do its job properly, resulting in the machine not working optimally or even breaking down. It is therefore important that you keep track of your oil by analysing it regularly. This way you can avoid costly, unplanned stops and unnecessary breakdowns.

Common problems in a lubrication & hydraulic oil system:

  • High friction, causing wear on metal parts, which shows up as metal residues in the oil.

  • Additives in the oil that cause problems such as precipitation.

  • External contaminants entering the oil, such as moisture, dust and other particles.

  • Corrosion in the machine, which has a catalysing effect on other degradation reactions in the oil.

  • Clogging of filters.

Most problems that occur in a Lubrication & Hydraulic oil system are caused by chain reactions that can be traced by chemical analysis of the oil. With information about the oil, this chain reaction can be stopped in time and thus prevent costly breakdowns and downtime. We can also conduct investigations afterwards to determine whether the oil has caused a problem.

Deeper understanding of what oil is and how it changes

This is a "cheap" variant of the control system analysis and thus provides only basic data.

Reports gear wear and provides information on the oil's content of protective additives for the machine and the oil. The viscosity is often responsible for the lubrication in gears and is therefore naturally included in the package.
